Benchmarks: HD Tune Pro

The Hard disk Tune Pro random read 512 byte test provided us with some very surprising results. The OCZ Onyx 32/64GB SSDs were plant to be the all-time performers hither chirapsia the Intel X25-V 40GB and OCZ Agility 2 40GB SSDs by a narrow margin. The Kingston SNV425-S2 64GB was noticeably slower than most of the other SSDs, though information technology was the ADATA S596 Turbo 32GB that delivered the worst results.

For some reason the ADATA S596 Turbo 32GB was limited to 0.05MB/s making it slower than a conventional desktop 3.5" hard drive. The Momentus XT 500GB was also very deadening simply this is less surprising given that information technology is a mechanical bulldoze.

The write performance of the OCZ Onyx 32/64GB SSDs was non quite as impressive as they provided less than one-half the performance of the OCZ Agility 2 and Vertex 2 40GB drives which produced the all-time results. The Intel X25-V 40GB was the 3rd fastest drive tested and roughly matched the operation of the OCZ Agility two and Vertex two 40GB drives.

This time it was the Kingston SNV425-S2 64GB that provided the worst SSD result.

The Hard disk Tune Pro 1MB random read test favored the OCZ Agility 2 and Vertex 2 40GB drives which produced massive bandwidths in excess of 250MB/due south. The ADATA S596 Turbo 32GB too did quite well reaching 210MB/s while the Kingston SNV425-S2 64GB sustained 190MB/s. The Intel X25-V 40GB was limited to 149MB/s while the OCZ Onyx 32/64GB drives fell just curt of 120MB/s.

The Seagate Momentus XT 500GB again struggled in this test with just 34MB/due south making information technology quite a bit slower than the Samsung Spinpoint F1 1TB.
